Top local DJs Sunju Hargun, Tek Harrington, Eddy Frampton, Boris Rubin, Dan Buri, Mendi Indigo, plus guest DJs Lando from Germany and Pepe from Italy, all provided their services for free at the event, and their carefully crafted sets created a magical atmosphere which put smiles on everyone involved.
With sponsors including Bacardi, Peroni Nastro Azzuro, Maprao, Red Bull, Viva Aviv, Glow and One Place Bangkok, the exclusive 170 ticket event raised an impressive B100,000 for the Duang Prateep Foundation, which provides education programs for children living in the Khlong Toey slums.
To celebrate the success of their inaugural event, and to donate the funds raised, the Karma Klique crew hosted a Fun Day for more than 100 children from the Duang Prateep Foundation as well as the Khlong Toey Music Program. The kids enjoyed hip hop dance classes, drama activities, magicians, craft workshops, face painting and even a clown. It was a day filled with celebration, fun and laughter for both the children and all the volunteers involved, without whom the day could not have been possible.
Karma Klique is now busy planning its next event. One of the founders we contacted, Sunju Hargun, couldn’t reveal too much, but he did tell us that, “It’s going to be something new and fresh, but with the same intentions of creating an amazing experience and giving back to those in need.”
Nothing but humbleness, teamwork, unique event concepts and expansion can be expected from Karma Klique in the years to come. Definitely a team to keep an eye on.
