Before the annual Traditional Thammasat-Chula Football Match kicks off every year, a friendly Sports Day is held to warm students up and strengthen the good relationship between the two universities. This year, leading global fitness group Jetts 24 Hour Fitness became part of the sports event by offering health and fitness guides and hosting an exclusive BODYCOMBAT class for the students to get physically active together.
Dane Cantwell, Thailand Country Manager of Jetts 24 Hour Fitness, said, “Jetts is pleased to be a part of CU-TU Sports Day 2019 with aims to engage Thai youths in fun and healthy exercises and physically prepare the students for the forthcoming big event which is the 73rd Traditional Thammasat-Chula Football Match. We have collaborated with businesses and educational institutions to offer workout advices to individuals, especially the younger generation, and allow them to engage in fun-filled, energizing workout sessions. The BODYCOMBAT class we held today is a popular group exercise that combines aerobic moves with martial arts and the exciting sensation of upbeat music. This BODYCOMBAT session helps you burn up to 500-800 kcal within 45-60 minutes. It also improves muscular and bone strength, cardiovascular and lung endurance, flexibility, agility and coordination of the nervous system, which ultimately helps beat fatigue and makes your physique more resilient. The workout class is suitable for those who like to stay active and are in need of physical strength and good shape, particularly the students who participate in a range of activities in the Traditional Chula-Thammasat Football Match.”
Thanayod Tiensri, Head Organizer of Sports Day 2019, said, “The objective of the Traditional Thammasat-Chula Football Match is not only to tighten the cordial relationship between the two universities, but also to encourage students to participate in field activities and feel prompted to start exercising. As the organizer, we realize that Jetts 24 Hour Fitness’ contribution would be able to help the participants tone up and prepare for their respective responsibility in the Traditional Football Match event, which is scheduled to take place in February. Also, all participants will get to take some of the best workout advices from the experts to create a better health and fitness plan in the future.”
Suchaya Puthiwinyoo, Head of TU Ambassador and the walker of Thammasat University name plate for the 73rd Traditional Thammasat-Chula Football Match, said, “My life right now revolves around studying and university activities, so I need to get my physical and mental health in place for the tasks by working out 2-3 times a week. Joining Jetts’ BODYCOMBAT is an incredibly fun and challenging workout experience. After finishing the class I start to feel more confident about my body and overall posture, which is something I have been working hard on for the anticipated Thammasat-Chula Football Match event.”
Auttanun Jampreechar, TU Ambassador and the walker of Thammasat University name plate for the 73rd Traditional Thammasat-Chula Football Match said, “Now that I am juggling between education and university activities, sometimes I get fatigue easily. Today’s workout class and sports competition make me physically energized again. When you have the strength to back it up, you can do just about anything you want. Also, group exercises like this gave me a chance to make new friends from the same university and the other university.”

Sarunchana Apisamaimongkol, a member of CU Coronet team for the 73rd Traditional Thammasat-Chula Football Match, said, “Usually, I’m not a workout person so I get concerned about my physical strength sometimes. Fortunately, today’s Sports Day events allowed me to see how far I could push myself and develop many physical skills. For example, in Jetts’ BODYCOMBAT class, I got to exercise all parts of my body from arms, shoulders, waist, hips and down to the feet. I had a great time working out today and am planning to work out more regularly in the future.”
Nopparut Praditkamjornchai, another member of CU Coronet team for the 73rd Traditional Thammasat-Chula Football Match, said, “Working out could give you more stamina and raise your energy and agility levels. I would like to encourage my university student peers to exercise on a regular basis in the early morning or in the evening, and choose a well-rounded approach to exercise. Today I learned several workout tips and techniques from Jetts’ BODYCOMBAT class, including punching, kicking, knee and elbow strikes and defense, which are all lots of fun and great for my health.”
