STARRING NEW BRAND HEROINES JULIA GARNER, SADIE SINK AND KIKI LAYNE
To celebrate her Spring 2019 debut collection for Kate Spade New York, Creative Director Nicola Glass tapped actresses Julia Garner (“Ozark”), Sadie Sink (“Stranger Things”) and Kiki Layne (“If Beale Street Could Talk”), to star in all Kate Spade New York campaigns for 2019. The three new faces personify Glass’s brand promise of optimistic femininity: empowered confidence with an easy, sunny sensibility.
The campaign was shot by famed photographer and long-time brand collaborator, Tim Walker, a master of narrative pictures and surrealist portraits who first worked with the brand from 1999-2006 under Kate and Andy Spade, and who will shoot all campaigns in 2019. The campaign was styled by Sara Moonves.

Inspired by the idea of a spontaneous gathering of friends and the joyful, spirited celebrations that ensue, the intimate moments of a girl’s weekend away is the backdrop for the Spring 2019 campaign, bringing to life the optimistically feminine world at the heart of Nicola Glass’s new vision for the brand.
Under the creative direction of Nicola Glass, Kate Spade New York encourages women to be the heroines of their own story. The brand is a celebration of women across time zones, generations and style creeds who are living their individual lives to the fullest and believe that, together, everything is possible.
Having always been attracted to the brand’s core DNA – the modern use of color and authentic design –Nicola Glass saw an opportunity to examine and refine the existing codes of the house, evolving them in her own way. Inspired by the origins of the brand, Nicola began with the spade – exploring all types of spade treatments – both overt and subtle, integrating it into patterns as well as functional closures. She also looked at how she could build upon the collection season after season, establishing consistencies and core elements across categories.
Feminine silhouettes nod to the ‘70s and 40’s; colors become more modern through saturated solids and unexpected combinations; a unique print language ignites a sense of discovery; handbags take on a new level of luxury with unique applications and sumptuous fabrics – all rooted in the idea of everyday luxuries.
