Lamitak by TAK Products and Services Co., Ltd., Thailand’s and Asia’s leading company in decorative materials used for interior applications in houses and offices, showcases top-of-the-line designs from laminate products at Bangkok Design Week 2020.
Inspired by a dreamlike state, Dreamscape Experience “Where there is a space for imagination in reality” is a place for creativity to come to life by 3 designers from Salt and Pepper Studio, who previously won Demark Award 2016 and 2017, in collaboration with FOS Lighting Design. There are conceptual designs: the “Fear” emerged from ignorance, the natural wonder “Saltlick”, and “The Circular Rainbow: Hope for the Better”. The exhibition will be open to public on 1-9 February 2020 at Kodang 1, Warehouse 30, Charoenkrung Road, Bangkok.
Mr. Wichien Asawaworarit, Managing Director of TAK Products and Services said “Our company has been established for over 12 years, starting from importing decorative material. The first brand to be imported is Lamitak, high quality decorative materials used on room walls and other interior parts at hotels, offices, and residences. What is special about The Journey Begins collection is appealing texture that feels like real wood and looks naturally clean-cut, as well as impressive durability. The collection also offers materials with mirror-smooth texture for luxurious decoration, which are featured in Dreamscape Experience. I would like to invite lovers of art to immerse in state-of-the-art sensation created by talented designers. All visitors will receive creative gifts made from laminate.”
Pipidh Khowsuwan and Anchana Thongpaitoon, managing director and creative director of Salt and Pepper Studio revealed their feelings and inspiration of this work that “We are honoured to have this chance to work with Lamitak in designing this exhibition, as Lamitak is very well-known among designers. We aim to create cutting-edge design like never before, inspired by dreams under the concept of ‘Where there is a space for imagination in reality’ to turn our imagination into creative solid works.”
Pipidh Khowsuwan also added that “The idea behind ‘Dreamscape Experience’ is derived from nature and expedition, as each collection of Lamitak is also instilled with nature exploration. This source of inspiration helps us invent newfangled experience, and it is a special opportunity to have designers from various fields – architect, product designer, lighting designer, and graphic designer – to collaborate with one another and meticulously create stimulating installation arts and lighting design.”
Thaneeya Yuktadatta and Maez Bhuchareon from FOS Lighting Design said “We get a chance to participate in designing “The Circular Rainbow: Hope for the Better” zone to send encouraging messages through rainbow, so our audience can feel hopeful for success that comes after struggles, just like a rainbow after the rain. We utilize lighting to create different ambiences in each spot, revealing different compelling colors and textures as the light hits. Luckily, Lamitak has various textures, patterns, glossiness levels and colors, so we can creatively play with this beautiful variation to create marvelous atmosphere in this appealing art space. We really hope you will enjoy it.”
Sataporn Nuallaong, leading graphic designer added his thoughts on this exhibition “Imagination and dreams are subjective and almost unpredictable. I would like to get through this interpretation of ambiguity with straightforward and simple graphic design, using typography with unconventional spaces and rhythm to evoke one’s unique imagination and meaning.”

The exhibition categorizes natural elements into 3 parts: geology, wildlife, and natural phenomenon, and the designers portray the elements in 3 platforms:
FEAR – Fear emerges from ignorance. Fear only exists in our minds, so if we want to overcome our ignorance, we must face our fear. This ‘geology’ platform is designed by talented interior designer and architect Pipidh Khowsuwan, who plays with the space with mystic entrance in order to stimulate fear of not knowing what is ahead in this journey.
SALTLICK – Wonders of the nature, designed by Anchana Thongpaitoon, who narrates a story of a magical place that wild animals go on expedition to arrive at the place with faith, determination, and bravery despite dangers ahead. The main message of “Saltlick” is that bravery is not having zero fear, but it is to keep going even when we have fear. The highlight goes to a deer with blooming iris climbing a mountain as a symbol of faith and bravery.
THE CIRCULAR RAINBOW: HOPE FOR THE BETTER – Created by FOS Lighting Design Studio, in this rainbow, there are life philosophy and beauty in disguise, portrayed by eye-catching lighting design. This final platform is a reward for bravery and the conclusion of the “Dreamscape Experience” expedition.
