Maurice Lacroix, a Swiss luxury timepiece brand with 45-year history of timeless splendour, has recently launched a new watch line in ‘AIKON’ collection and others at the “Aikonic Novelties of 2020 Collection” event, showcasing 26 watches of 5 models namely ‘AIKON Chronograph Skeleton,’ ‘Masterpiece Embrace,’ ‘Fiaba Moonphase,’ and 2 new ‘AIKON Quartz’ models with 1 unique style.
This event marked the first launch of the marque in Asia and an exclusive opportunity for Thai Maurice Lacroix fans and members of the press to admire the collections before anybody. The event was graced by special guests, Mr. Stephane Waser, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix and Mr. Marcel Gut, International Sales Director of Maurice Lacroix, flying directly from Switzerland and welcomed by Mr. Ravis Haetanurak, Brand Manager Maurice Lacroix (Thalland). Featured in the event was an art exhibition by FOB, forefront artists of Thailand, Mr. Parinya ‘Benz’ Sirisinsuk, as known as “BENZILLA” within the design industry, and internationally-acclaimed fashion designer and Ms. Pimnarra ‘Letar’ Sangngern, Designer of NARA Brand who brought along their unique art pieces to celebrate this special occasion with the brand and talked about the inspiration behind their artistic creation. The event, hosted by Liza – Elizabeth Sadler, took place on the 29th floor rooftop of SO Sofitel BKK Sathorn.
Mr. Stephane Waser (Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix) delivered an opening speech expressing how honored he felt to be a part of the new launches by Maurice Lacroix, the globally recognized Swiss luxury watch brand and one of the strongest brands in the global watch arena.
“Thailand has been a long-established market of Maurice Lacroix, and the love that Thai customers have been given to our signature contemporary style is the reason we choose Thailand as the first country in Asia for the latest 2020 collection preview. This year, we will gear up our marketing game with two main strategies – a sharpened focus on AIKON development both in terms of quality and design creativity, and a wider range of ladies models offered through Fiaba and Masterpiece collections.”
The challenge in the Thai market is how to strengthen the relationship between the brand and Thai customers, and to increase brand awareness among Thai customers. One objective of the launch, therefore, aims at communicating with the new generation, or the Millennials, and helping them recognize the modern image of the brand that can truly meet their needs. It is hoped that the various collections, including the most recent 5 models released earlier this year, and all of the brand’s activities will bring excitement to those who love and are fascinated with Maurice Lacroix.

For instance, ‘AIKON Chronograph Skeleton,’ an extension of the success story after the 2018 three-handed AIKON Skeleton, receives an overwhelming response. Skeletonisation, or open work, is a design technique to showcase the watch’s movement which proudly boasts the craftsmanship, expertise, and decades of experience of the marque. This year, the brand completed the production of this skeleton automatic chronograph that exudes uncompromising masculinity. The 44-mm diameter case, a reduced bezel that better exposes the movement of the watch, the 3D engraved time markings on the 6 AIKON arms, and finally a hand-stitched black calfskin strap are combined into this watch of high masculinity, charm, and sophistication. What a real highlight of the year! “The event was attended by two friends of Maurice Lacroix, Thailand’s leading street artists, Mr. Parinya ‘Benz’ Sirisinsuk, a renowned graphic design artist with 10 years’ worth of outstanding works, and Ms. Pimnara ‘Letar’ Saeng-ngern, a world famous fashion designer. Both brought along their street art artworks to the exhibition to celebrate this special occasion.” |
