MYKITA, a luxury eyewear brand from Germany, opened the doors to it‘s first flagship store in Thailand, the largest in Southeast Asia. Situated in the new Sindhorn Village development in Bangkok’s prestigious Langsuan Road, MYKITA Shop Bangkok brings clear design language, handcrafted products and innovative aesthetics of the Berlin-based global eyewear brand to one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic and vibrant cities. The opening celebration of the store was warmly attended by celebrities such as Pupavis Kritpolnara, Jay and Jareyadee Spencer, Vasu Virajsilp, Jarujit and Pimlert Baiyoke, Pimpisa Chirathivat, Kongpat Sakdapitak, Orawan Ingkhasit, Veekrit Palarit, Pasinee Kongdechakul, Kongsin Lawlertratana and  Wachana Charoensomsamai.

“The Bangkok shop opening is a natural step for MYKITA given our longstanding and rewarding relationship with the city, our local team, and not least, our loyal customer base,” says MYKITA founder Moritz Krueger. “We feel a strong connection to the authentic, positive nature of this urban culture that shares our values and appreciates original, modern design. We welcome residents and visitors alike to our new home in Pathum Wan to experience the world of MYKITA in its entirety.”

The party saw honorable guests, celebrities, members of the press and fashion editors exploring the special highlights of the new MYKITA store and the brand’s collections. The guests had a wonderful time checking out unique eyewear designs and finding the right style for themselves. At the event, renowned architect Vasu Virajsilp said, “Attending the opening of the first MYKITA shop in Thailand is very exciting because I’ve been a fan for quite a while. I personally love the special collaboration project between Maison Margiela and MYKITA. What makes MYKITA eyewear special is the light weight and comfortable design.”
Meanwhile, fashionista Pimlert Baiyoke said, “I wear glasses every day, and I’ve always liked MYKITA since I was young. I am glad to have a chance to join the opening of the new MYKITA shop. I love so many of them because they are comfortable, light, and suitable for everyday use.”

Inside the intimate ground-level space, ready-made industrial elements meet with custom- designed furniture and mirrored walls interspersed with green foliage. Developed by the MYKITA in-house architectural team, the interior concept presents a compelling clash of textures and surfaces: a high-tech urban jungle ambiance that gives a nod to the mesmerising contrasts of the Bangkok metropolis itself.
Pale green provides a unifying element for the interior, used on the expanded metal ceiling, eyewear storage trolleys and the metal detailing on the oak furniture. The signature white MYKITA WALL provides the central feature of the shop with the eyewear models of the current collection on display. On approaching the shop, the entrance to the in-store optical lab is already visible through the floor-to-ceiling glass front, providing a showcase for the dis- tinctive mix of handcraft and high technology that defines MYKITA’s Modern Manufactory.

Alongside the full product portfolio, including the designer collaborations with Martine Rose ,Bernhard Willhelm or Maison Margiela to name a few, the MYKITA Shop Bangkok incorporates a Zeiss Vision Center to provide a comprehensive optical service for customers. Using state-of-the-art instruments, the in-house optometrist is able to generate a customised optical profile and perfectly adapt the frame and lens for each customer’s face. Quality, precision and products made in Germany form the basis of the partnership between MYKITA and world-renowned optical solutions specialist, Zeiss.

In addition to the MYKITA Shop Bangkok, the brand currently has 16 shops worldwide, including locations in Barcelona, Berlin, Cartagena, Copenhagen, Los Angeles, Monterrey, New York, Paris, Taipei, Tokyo, Vienna, Washington, Zermatt and Zurich.
