WORKING to reduce single-use plastics are the hardworking students at Nist International School. New initiatives by the members of Plastic Free NIST were put into place after a Y7 science and individuals and societies unit focused on Thailand's plastic problem and decided to decrease the amount of plastic the school uses. Uniforms are now wrapped and sold in paper rather than plastic. Plastic cups have since been replaced with ones made of cassava. A number of recycling bins have been installed across campus. The members of the group are Kenshin Ueoka, Shivam Kogar, Bruno Dunda, Abhishek Agarwal, Brendan Cheng, Aunya Ahkkhararsathesupar, Maxine Magtoto, Annika Anandsongkit, Isak Palmqvist and Angel Sethinamyong.
