“Pok - Passakorn” takes part as a spokesperson motivating Thais to quit smoking with the campaign “Million Courages, Quit Smoking with Confidence”

Statistics study revealed that the number of smokers in Thailand is 11 million people, and more than 4 million people have a desire to quit smoking. Due to the fact, Johnson & Johnson (Thailand) Ltd. in cooperation with Boots Retail (Thailand) Ltd., recognise the importance of World No Tobacco Day on 31 May every year, together with the main concept of the company that wishes Thais to stay healthy and with our strong determination to significantly contribute to encourage more people to quit smoking. In this regard, we are hosting an official press conference to launch the campaign “Million Courages, Quit Smoking with Confidence”, which has received excellent cooperation for the 3 consecutive years. For this year, we have arranged an activity to provide information about methods and assistance of how to quit smoking by medical professionals and pharmacists. In addition, there are also ways of thinking and encouragement from the 2 artists and celebrities  Pok - PassakornChirathivatand Non - Thanon Jumroen to participate in the campaign promoting Thais to achieve quit smoking accordingly.
Mr. Neeraj Goyal,Country Director of Johnson& Johnson (Thailand) Ltd. said “Johnson & Johnson (Thailand) Ltd. has a determination in developing our products and pharmaceutical products with care and concerns to everyone health, especially issues of smoking  that can only do harms to everyone causing many smokers to seriously consider to quit smoking. As a matter of fact, smokers are not addicted to cigarettes but to Nicotine in cigarettes. Therefore, we have invented a nicotine replacement in a form of nicotine chewing gum to assist smokers to reduce nicotine cravings for cigarettes. Utilizing nicotine replacement with a determination to quit smoking will increase a chance of success to quit smoking by 2 times.*”
The young singer and celebrity, Pok - PassakornChirathivatadded "I once was a heavy smoker,  but now I have children, so I have decided to give up smoking as I don't want my children to take all thesmoke, as itaffects on their development. Therefore, my goal is very obvious that I seriously need to quit smoking. On top of that, I am very fortunate that my wife, Margie, provides me support by all means. She always makes sure to find a way to distract me whenever I feel like smoking such as finding me snacks, citrus fruits to freshen me up or find me a nicotine replacement chewing gum, so I have finally managed to quit smoking and restored my health. I can’t be any happier.”
 
In addition, Johnson & Johnson (Thailand) Ltd. has also donated 100,000 Baht fund to the Respiratory Diseases Foundation at Thammasat University Hospital for lung cancer patients at the press conference.
