REFILL NOT LANDFILL is a community environment project launched successfully in Cambodia, Laos, and Indonesia. Now it is here in Thailand. The project’s aim is to reduce the need to buy water in single-use plastic bottles that ultimately pollute our lands and oceans after disposal.
The concept is simple. Hotels provide their guests’ water canisters printed with the campaign QR code. Guests scan the QR code with smart phones to launch Google Maps, which shows the nearest free water refill station.
REFILL NOT LANDFILL water refill stations will be popping up in other accessible Bangkok locations, including cafes and restaurants, retail and art centers, and more. Bangkokians and international visitors can now help the environment by carrying their own reusable water canisters to refill as they head out to explore the riverside neighborhoods and attractions.
BANGKOK RIVER PARTNERS
Businesses along the Chao Phraya River are working together to protect the environment and clean up the streets, canals and river system so that single-use plastic does not make its way into the Gulf of Thailand and threaten marine life. Thanks to River City Bangkok, this is one of the first free water refill stations in Thailand. Others can be found at Warehouse 30 and The Jam Factory, thanks to the generous support of Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy. More information about the campaign and all great things to do along the river can be found at www.bangkokriver.com
