Design the Experience
Design the Experience is the practice that designers want to express their feelings to the audience with the new creative products. The essence of good design is the methods full of passionate ideas and inspiration gained from designers’ surroundings and weaved them together to create valuable works with meanings related to the audience. In addition, fast-evolving society and lifestyle are other key factors for the new generation people. They want working spaces or recreation area that enhance and support their imagination and creativity which they can adapt to all kinds of work.
Tachamapan Chanchamrassang, a famous illustrator known as Pomme Chan, who designed a poster for Oscar Award, said “I usually spent a lot of time at work. Now, I don’t work hard but work smart instead. My design the experience and work method focus on my clear understanding of the customers’ need and know why, what and how of product use. We must pay attention and focus on what we are working on without holding too much on our identity because it will frame your thought too narrow and limit your freedom in initiating new ideas. Another important topic is ‘User Experience’-the design should meet experiences, uses and needs of users. Each product should be created to the most suitable and perfectly matched with characters and lifestyles of customers.”

Experience the Design
Design Thinking is a thinking process providing insightful understanding of problems with user-oriented and gather creativity and points of view from people in various fields to create ideas and improve new things to meet users’ needs. As to houses or residents, new generation designers must learn about changing lifestyles or understand the insights of the Millennials who play an important role as the main driving force of various organizations now and in the future. The Millennials are independent and very clear of what they like or unlike. They want more freedom and high flexibility. Now, technologies allow them to express themselves more. They have more choices in selecting what they like and representing their identity. More importantly, they want new life experiences. Good designers should not frame or give them choices. That’s the idea of residential designs that customers can have personalized room layouts and personal characters as well as their work or hobbies.
Ou Baholyodhin, the Chief Creative Officer of Sansiri Public Co., Ltd. said: “Most of today’s design focus on how to meet the demands of the Millennials-the generation has great impact on creativity and employees. Designing the experience for this group by depending on only research studies isn’t enough, but the Millennials’ insights is much needed. “Human Centric” approach with insightful understanding of the Millennials’ characters and lifestyle is the main force behind Sansiri’s concept of new type of real estate approach to fit perfectly the demands of the Millennials, who are seeking for new living experience more than buying stuff, which is called ‘Experience Over Things’ as well as expanding their networks by meeting new people and society - the modern platform where people with the same passion collaborate- under the concept “Extend Your Style” combined with fast-changing real estate trend in the current sharing economy. It is the open door for the Millennials to discover new evolving and challenging experiences as they wish. Therefore, the convenience and quality of public spaces are ones of the key factors to be considered before buying a real estate. Designing utility space must engage customers’ characters with different activity spaces, so that is the idea of co-sharing facilities the clients can choose to complement their preferences such as cooking studio, photo studio, arts & crafts studio, and co-work/play or exercise classes they can share across XT condominium projects. The clients can experience all of these facilities for the first time ever in Thailand with XT New Lifestyle Condominium.
Palat Charoenthaitawee, young interior designer, talked about his participant in the event: “I love my job so I really want to work all the time even on weekends. So when we can design our room to have spacious working space, it meets our lifestyle’s needs. Providing co-working facilities across different residential projects is very interesting and brand-new idea for Thailand. Sometimes, we might not want to travel a lot while working, so if we can have studios, kitchens, or cool workshop spaces, that idea will surely meet the lifestyle of many people.”
