Klaus Sennik said, “It is a real pleasure to return to Malaysia as General Manager of the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Melaka. This is a fantastic city in a truly amazing country with a wealth of tourism assets to suit every type of leisure traveler. “I am looking forward to playing an enthusiastic role in supporting the campaign launched by Tourism Melaka to attract more visitors to the State in 2019. We are indeed the ‘Gateway to Historic Malaysia’ and I commend the efforts of our Chief Minister Adly Zahari and Tourism Melaka General Manager Zairi Suboh to support our thriving tourism sector. I am confident that Visit Melaka Year 2019 will be an outstanding success.” The government’s tourism vision targets some 36 million arrivals in 2020, generating TM 168 billion in tourism receipts. The Visit Melaka 2019 programme is welcome and timely. Our challenge is to attract a greater proportion of these visitors to Melaka. In my short time as GM of the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Melaka I have been able to appreciate the wealth of tourism treasures throughout the city and the state. We must work hand in hand with the tourism authorities, under the banner of Visit Melaka 2019, to promote these treasures and other tourist attractions to national and international source markets. The warm and friendly welcome provided by Melakans is a priceless asset and we must communicate this effectively with all our stakeholders. |
Melaka benefits from an efficient infrastructure, easy and convenient access from KL international airport, a multi-cultural environment and a fascinating history. There is much that we can promote – and I am looking forward to assisting the campaign in the months ahead.
