The management team of W Koh Samui led by the hotel’s General Manager, Mr. Daniel Simon, together with five leaders from the Marriott International Hotels and Koh Samui’s local authorities joined hands to raise awareness and focus particularly on the importance of helmets for children riding around the neighborhood through the ‘Helmet Hero 2018’ campaign, recently held at W Koh Samui.
This year’s campaign committee in Koh Samui, a member of Marriott International’s Thailand Business Council, selects 80 students from Tiparatpitaya School who are riding a bike or a motorbike every day to join the artistic helmet painting workshop and a walk-the-talk session emphasizing that the crashes or falls can cause serious head and brain injuries.
“Helmet Hero 2018 campaign marks a solid commitment to our community. Offering safety helmets to all participating students who will play a vital role and act as a role model for other students at the school, friends and their family members is the simple tool to spread the message and communicate how wearing a helmet can save their lives in the road accident,” said Daniel Simon.
The ‘Helmet Hero’ campaign was launched in October 2015 when the Marriott International has continually supported this campaign since the beginning. This year, all of the six Marriott International Hotel’s portfolio of brands in Koh Samui, including W Hotels, Sheraton, A Luxury Collection, Renaissance, Le Meridien and The Ritz Carlton, has participated in the ‘Helmet Hero’ campaign for 2 consecutive years.
