Business forum held for Indian trade visitors and exhibitors to attend more exhibitions in Thailand
The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) recently organised an ‘Exhibition Business Forum’ in Mumbai, India to attract more Indian trade visitors and exhibitors by offering new subsidy scheme with the ‘360° Exhibition Success’ campaign.
The Forum generated over 19 business leads from nine unique industries including pharmaceutical and medical, plastic and printing, food and agriculture, energy, construction, packaging, biochemical, logistic and textile. Indian businesses also stated interest to conduct toy show events in Thailand.
Ms. Kanokporn Damrongkul, Director of Exhibitions, TCEB said, “India is a lucrative market that is ranked number third in terms of exhibitors and fifth in visitors to Thailand. The Indian market has increased year by year by 2.85% that accounted for 18,492 trade participants to Thailand in 2018.”
This year’s TCEB Exhibition Business Forum in India rolled out Thailand’s latest campaign for the exhibition sector, the ‘360° Exhibition Success’, to inform the Indian exhibition industry of the great business opportunities available in Thailand, ASEAN and neighbouring CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) markets.
TCEB is promoting two promotions for exhibitors and visitors. The ‘Exhibiz in Market’ campaign is to attract more exhibitors from India, offering national pavilion leader as a business platform at trade shows in Thailand. The ‘ASEAN+6 Privileges’ promotion is to help leverage trade visitors from the ASEAN member countries, China, Japan, Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand, with the aid of TCEB subsidies on accommodation, for their business meetings with exhibitors at trade shows in Thailand.
“These trade promotions that target both exhibitors and visitors will also be continued by market segment to maintain growth. By targeting business mission organisers, such as government, trade federation, trade association, trade media and respective chamber of commerce it brings trade visitors for business negotiations at international exhibitions organised in Thailand,” Ms. Kanokporn, added.
The recent Exhibition Business Forum in Mumbai attracted business professionals from the Indian government, trade association, chamber of commerce, business federation and media. It is estimated that it will generate more than 21.8 million baht (approximately US$714,000) in revenue for Thailand.
