The Six & Sax Duo / Magdalena Jakubska-Szymiec - saxophone and Grzegorz Szymiec - guitar. Polish musicians, graduated of the Music Academy Karol Szymanowski in Katowice (Poland). Unusual combination of two instruments from different worlds. As said by Ryo Noda - a well-known Japanese saxophonist and composer: The Six & Sax Duo finds a new dimension of the world of the saxophone! A unique and unknown repertoire arouses the interest of national and international music festivals. Musicians experiment with different musical genres. They are found both in compositions originally written for this composition, as well as in their own arrangements of classical pieces such as Ryo Noda, Ciarán Farrell, Béla Kovács, Franz Schubert or Claude Debussy. Duo reaches the unknown by performing also works by Polish composers such as Łukasz Woś and Marek Pasieczny. The Six and Sax Duo is named after a connection of those two instruments. The Six means six strings of classical guitar and Sax is saxophone. They both have been playing together since they were married for 12 years. However, the name The Six & Sax Duo is their new project starting last year. Listen to their tracks via https://youtu.be/61-fsTSL_wc |
