Recently YAKLAND game application, made by Thai people, has been launched with the cooperation between Safe and Creative Media Development Fund and Brothers Pictures Company Limited and also in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to promote tourism. The launch is an update of the first generation of this game application. It is packed with various technologies and features that are connected to each other. There are not only game features, ‘AR Technology (Augmented Reality)’ but also ‘AI Response Message Technology (Chatbot) which are like tour guides. It is the integration of technology between the real world and the virtual reality. There is collecting points in exchange for discounts at participating shops. From all of these, it is believed that there are still features which the developers are preparing to build on.

Giants have been reinterpreted to be more accessible and more possible than the original ones.

The developers chose to capture giants to tell the story in a new way passing through 6 giants with different characters.

Asurasee    The big brother giant loves peace. He is like a justice agent who is unselfish.
Phupha       The benevolent, sacrificed, green giant has power, everyone can rely on him.
Meka           This giant loves freedom. He is curious, thoughtful, and always eager to learn.
Akkee         The red giant has the most courage, loves adventure and likes to face new challenges.
Walee         The celestial giant is rational, calm, and always gives priority to the
public first.
Asanee       This giant is the fastest and the most agile. He is also the most sincere.

Creative travel is more than just entertainment.

When you enter the game application for the first time you will only get the Big Brother, Asurasee in the collection, but you will be able to travel to temples which are famous landmarks in Bangkok and are not far from each other. They are Wat Arun and Wat Pho which are the starting points of the legend of Giants along the two sides of the river. There are many tales of the legends. Cross the river to Wat Rakhang, Wat Suthat, and Wat Saket or Wat Phu Khao Thong, at each temple where you have travelled you will chase little giants in the map that will be displayed automatically as you check in on arriving at a temple. You will also study various stories like histories at various points in the temple through new technology that will be fascinating as you learn. There is a good chance the new generation will visit places which they had never thought of visiting. Catching each giant will use AR Technology that you may have heard of but few people will have tried it. Experience it. Try it. But you should know first, it is not EASY! You may sweat but you will have a smile on your face. You will have to collect and watch the captured giants grow and you will be awarded points by raising the giants, it is not wasteful as you can bring the points to join events and redeem them for discounts at participating shops as well.

To consider the past by technology for the future

Technology does not only keep moving forward but also makes people look back the historical, artistic and cultural values that will not disappear along with time. Technology also helps to keep, preserve and convey the stories in an ingenious way. The joy of legends and the ink drop on pages of papers were passed on as a modern art for the new generation to understand and be interested easier, including the old generation can open their minds to a new world that makes the days not just pass by with no benefits, but will start studying with new things again having fun in the family. This is a connection of all kinds of people; all genders and ages.
