FROM the moment she launched her career at the age of 26, Bangkok-based artist Elizabeth Romhild has been a true innovator, making her name first as a talented portrait painter, then moving on to brilliant seascapes and landscapes. Later this popular Danish-Armenian artist expanded her portfolio with a stunning collection of bronze sculptures followed by some extraordinarily beautiful artworks that appeared on a range of quality lifestyle products, from porcelain tableware to fine jewelry. Recently, her company collaborated with Bang & Olufsen to present her designs on Beoplay speaker covers. Now multi-faceted artist has taken her remarkable career to a new level with her gorgeous hand-made mosaics, in collaboration with Sonite Surfaces, to be used either as stand-alone objets d’art or as decorative features for the home. Either way, they are amazing. |
It is therefore with a good deal of pleasure that we present an example of Elizabeth’s constantly evolving talent on the front cover of this month’s edition of BigChilli – a beautiful mosaic portrait created exclusively for the BigChilli. As yet another expression of her wonderful artistic talent, it is a masterpiece - fun, vivid, unique and full of wonder. A joy to behold. Our photos show Elizabeth at work in her studio and helping the Sonite team to put the final touches to the BigChilli cover shot. Elizabeth has lived and worked in Bangkok, Thailand since 1988. Her artwork is part of private collections in several countries around the world including Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Italy, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and the United States |
