Daily theme parties and big name DJs fuel the fun at this Ibiza-inspired beach club
FEATURING a restaurant, lounge bar, coffee shop and beach club all rolled into one, this vibrant hangout on Khao San Road takes its inspiration from Ibiza-style beach clubs and, alongside its long list of cocktails and Thai-style tapas, serves up some of the hottest parties on the street.

Establishing the ‘beach’ atmosphere is the semi-outdoor area where you can sit in low-slung chairs with your feet in sand. Slurp a margarita under the thatched roof during the day and your senses will be whisked far away from the commotion of Khao San via chilled-out house music and reggae (you can also relax in another lounge featuring flamboyant paintings by British artist Paul Kirk). At night, Superflow’s house DJs (and the occasional big name act) will then take control of the decks at the heart of the club to power you through to the early hours with up-tempo electro.

The music is very much the focus of this operation. Superflow’s managing director and founder Ceto Geray cut his teeth spinning tunes for crowds in Ibiza – a 12 year stint in which he rubbed shoulders with some of the world’s biggest DJs and promoters – as such he has the knowledge and contacts to put together some pretty epic events, including daily theme parties and a monthly shindig featuring a big international act.

Of course, you can’t just booze and party without fuel, though – and this is where the adjoining Tom Yum Kung Restaurant comes in.

This renowned restaurant, now 17 years old, specializes in Thai-style tapas and luscious curries loaded with herbs and spices. Some of the highlights from its regular menu include the signature spicy Tom Yum Kung (B350), Stir-Fried Soft Shell Crab with Curry Powder (B290), Deep Fried Seabass in Fish Sauce (B350), and Stir-Fried Chicken with Cashew Nuts (B170). If you’re in party mode, though, we suggest selecting the bite-sized options (which come in sets of three to five items).

As for drinks, you can expect all the usual beers (starting at just B120 per bottle) plus a long list of reasonably priced cocktails. Blue Hawaii, Mojito and Tequila Sunrise are all just B180 per glass (or B500 per bucket), and you can expect great value all round.

9 Khao San Rd. Open daily noon-2am. Tel: 086 088 0129,
