Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok is unveiling a new-look week-end Afternoon Tea concept as part of the hotel’s magnificent eighth anniversary celebrations this September.
The new sophisticated and state-of-the-art “Afternoon Tea Reimagined” expands this popular English tradition by offering a more substantial selection of savoury and sweet items that are served course by course, rather than as a one-time tea set on the table.

“We wanted to upgrade and redefine our afternoon tea experience by adding even more elegance and sophistication. Our new week-end afternoon tea is a beautiful orchestration of five set courses served by our staff,” explained Executive Chef Stefan Trepp. “We have given this concept considerable thought and we have taken great care to create a balanced menu that offers variety, value, quality and enjoyment.”
“Afternoon Tea Reimagined” crafted by Kempinski is a spectacular culinary journey presented in the elegant setting of the hotel’s grand lobby and Hanuman Bar. The five-course afternoon tea consists of canapés, sandwiches, scones, mini éclairs and mignardises. The canapés include rice cracker with marinated duck, massaman peanut butter and sweet Thai garlic; crispy Thai tea roll; and mini honey with lime matcha cone. The finely-cut sandwiches include smoked salmon and crab rillettes with horseradish butter and lemon, pickled cucumber served with blinis and pumpernickel; and BBQ pork steamed bao with cilantro mayo.

The pastries and delicate desserts include freshly baked scones served with raspberry preserves, passion fruit curd and clotted cream; a selection of mini éclairs including passion fruit and mango éclair; bourbon vanilla and apricot éclair; and white chocolate cherry éclair; whilst the mignardises include marshmallow, pralines and assorted macaroons.

“At Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok we recognise the importance of a well-spent week-end afternoon, especially for those who live and work amid the hustle and bustle of busy Bangkok. There is surely no better way to unwind than by enjoying Afternoon Tea Reimagined in the company of family and friends whilst at the same time sipping a cup of delicious aromatic tea,” added Stefan Trepp. “We look forward to welcoming local and international culinary connoisseurs to savour this creative transformation of a fine afternoon tradition.”
The new sophisticated and state-of-the-art afternoon tea is Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok’s latest beautiful and uplifting crafted gastronomy experience. Guests can enjoy a true performance as one course after another is perfectly orchestrated whilst the harpist is serenading beautifully, adding a graceful atmosphere to a mellow week-end afternoon.

“Afternoon Tea Reimagined” is available every week-end at Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok from Saturday 1 September 2018, served between 14:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs. A harpist will serenade guests with a tranquil background of musical entertainment every week-end afternoon. Priced at THB 999++ per person.
