Istanbul

Istanbul, the “City of Two Continents”, is a port city in which embraces the two continents of Asia and Europe. With one arm reaching into Europe through the Thrace of the Bosphorus Strait and the other into Asia through the Anatolia, Istanbul is one of the most important capital cities and is the most populous city in Turkey.

The Bosphorous Strait is the junction connecting The Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara. It’s the end meeting point  between Asia and Europe. The Bosphorous Strait is 32 kilometers long and the widest point is 3.7 kilometers, and the narrowest point is only 700 meters wide. It’s not every day that you are in the Bosphorous Strait, so make sure to jump onto a cruise to get a full 360-view of your surroundings.

Hippodrome
Hippodrome, or the Sultanahmed Complex, was the city center in the Byzantium period. Originally, the square was used for horseracing, but in the modern age there are only three columns remaining: the Theodosius Obelisk column, the Bronze Serpent Coloumn, and the Column of Constantine.
The Blue Mosque
One of the main highlights of Turkey is most definitely The Sultan Ahmed I Mosque, or more commonly known as The Blue Mosque. The uniqueness of The Blue Mosque is the fact that the gigantic blue dome of the mosque looks exquisite from the view above and the interior of the mosque is lined up with elegant blue Iznik tiles, thus the name ‘The Blue Mosque’.
