Rain Tree Café is celebrating the Vegetarian Festival this season by featuring an extensive selection of dishes sourced from countries that have a vegetarian tradition, and served on the lunch and dinner buffet from 14 October to 23 October 2023.
From Japan comes a vegetable tempura with OmniPork, edamame, hoisin sauce, coconut rice, and a sweet chili dip, and there is also a selection of Japanese vegetarian sushi. Korea provides kimji with tofu, from Singapore comes wok-fried noodles Hok Kian style, and from Vietnam is the recipe for fresh vegetable spring rolls. The Middle East provides couscous tabbouleh with fresh mint salad and pita bread. Vegetable lasagna, and eggplant al forno with Parmigiano and tomatoes are both from Italy. Baby spinach with citrus quinoa, and cauliflower steak with Parmesan and truffle are Western dishes.
The Chinese favorite of bamboo pith with black mushroom soup is on the buffet, as are a selection of Thai dishes. Yam hed rueam is a Thai spicy mushroom salad with soya sauce, while tom kha hed is made from coconut, galangal, lemongrass, and mixed mushroom. Stir-fried OmniMeat with hot basil goes into the pad kraprao Omni, and tao hoo song krung is deep-fried tofu with Beyond Meat dark soy gravy. On the live station are grilled satay ruam J, made from mushroom, soy protein and tofu with peanut sauce, and a mixed J fry of tofu, taro and corn fritter.
Vegetarian desserts are also served, with avocado cacao mousse, pecan pie, and banoffee pudding.
Prices are the regular THB 1,800++ for weekdays, and THB 2,100++ for weekends (dinner only).
