On 1 December 2022, Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok held its annual Christmas lighting ritual and concertini, a Kempinski tradition in the festive grandeur of the lobby. The iconic ‘Ladies and Gentlemen in Red’ presented the lighting ceremony followed by the official Christmas tree lighting ritual, conducted by the hotel’s managing director, Richard Schestak, together with Santa Claus.
A festive entertainment programme led into a Christmas concertini performance by ten talented young singers from Jinta Music School. This was followed by excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Nutcracker – Mother Ginger Edition’ by Bangkok City Ballet, and finally, the king of the North Pole, Santa Claus, made a grand appearance as the lobby erupted into applause. A grand 8 m-high Christmas tree decorated with luxurious stellar blue-and-gold colour ornaments to mark Kempinski’s 125th anniversary towered above all performances.
