SPASSO may be best known as being one of the city’s most popular hotel-based nightclubs, but it’s also a great restaurant too. For proof, visit for dinner and you’ll find some of the tastiest, unpretentious (yet artfully presented) Italian cuisine on offer in Bangkok. The lip-smacking a la carte selection of homespun classics are clearly close to Chef Luca Di Pietro’s heart (“they’re made using my Grandmother’s recipes,” he says), and includes highlights such as Tartara di Trota e Capesante (Fresh trout, scallops, yogurt, fish eggs, lemon. B600++), Chitarrina al Granchio (Handmade pasta, Crab, San Marzano, lemon. B580++), Gnocchetti al Ragu di Agnello (Gnocchi, lamb, tomato Sauce, Pecorino Abruzzese. B600++), and Stinco di Agnello al Forno (Slow roasted lamb shank, potatoes, carrots, red wine sauce. B990++). There are some excellent wine suggestions too. Spasso offers buffet lunch Mon-Fri at B895++ (antipasto buffet) and B1,075++ (all-you-can-eat buffet); a la carte dinner; and Sunday brunch.
