Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach is inviting guests and local residents to savor soulful Asian cuisine alongside cool, customized cocktails at Mama’s Kitchen, its new rustic yet refined dining addition. Overlooking the gorgeous Andaman Sea, Mama’s Kitchen welcomes you to the good old comfort of home cooked food in the lap of a small town atmosphere with a big taste. Our open edgy shipping container kitchen and bar, and less-is-more contemporary vibe is the ultimate experience you are looking for.
Chef Pen (our Mama), who delighted diners with her fresh flavours and engaging personality during a recent pop-up, oversees this brand-new beachfront venue. Influenced by her love of homegrown herbs and organic ingredients from her garden, Chef Pen’s dishes will tantalize your taste buds. Her food is lovingly prepared in the open air using a big flame and a traditional wok, amidst the buzz of lively conversation and laughter filling the air.
Embracing locally sourced and seasonal produce, besides the standard star menu, the specials menu at Mama’s Kitchen changes from day to day, depending on what has been brought ashore on fishing boats or harvested on local farms. All dishes will be cooked to perfection in Chef Pen’s trusty wok and enhanced with fresh herbs and spices from the onsite organic garden. Menu items could include street food classics such as wok-fried prawns with tamarind sauce, fried rice with Chinese sausage and wok-fried sea bass, or more original offerings like tom yum soba noodles, Chinese-style baby back pork ribs, Mongolian wok-fried beef and more.

Mama’s Kitchen is not only a haven of top-quality Asian cuisine, but also a stylish cocktail bar where guests can sip refreshing drinks while listening to the soothing sounds of the sea. As we all do, Mama loves to wind down with an after-work tipple and this rustic yet refined bar will serve a wide selection of beverages, from crafted cocktails infused with aromatic ingredients to premium imported spirits, chilled as they should be, and served in ornate containers, including half-cut bottles, stainless-steel “glasses,” enamel mugs and even fine china tea cups.
Mama Pen, as we like to call her, will be supported by her three “sons”, Khun Berdy, Khun Kam, and Khun Good, each of whom will add their own unique personality and skill to this family enterprise. Khun Good has a natural flair for mixology and entertaining guests, and is rightfully looking over the bar responsibilities. Our customers can personalize their cocktails in a fully interactive experience, from selecting the spirits, handpicking herbs, to tasting and tweaking the blend to suit their exact preferences.
With a choice of seating options, from comfy sofas and beanbags on the lawn to social bar stools and a long communal table, Mama’s Kitchen is perfect for light daytime bites and chic sunset drinks. A regular line-up of upbeat entertainment, including live bands and DJs spinning tunes on top of the shipping container, will create an electric atmosphere – especially after dark.
“We are delighted to unveil Mama’s Kitchen, a lively new venue that brings the spirit of Asian and Thai street food to life. Chef Pen is a popular figure who engages guests with her bubbly personality and creative flair for food. Aptly assisted by her “sons”, she creates a unique dining and social experience – casual and carefree, yet contemporary and effortlessly cool. Whether guests are seeking a relaxing meal, a customized cocktail or an uplifting evening, they will naturally gravitate towards Mama’s Kitchen,” said Gerd Kotlorz, General Manager at Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach.
