Numerous Inspirational flows played an important role in the varieties of creations ranging from Gossamer-light petals to its lustrous hues, impressively expressed by the innovative techniques of the Maison, leading to the birth of the Cosmos™ collection. The design reflects serenity. Subtle blend of softness and brilliance created by adorn of the white mother-of-pearl and the contrast homage to nature and luck, two of the Maison’s most cherished sources of inspiration. A femininity graced by luck With the subtle angle of their four distinctive heart-shaped petals, Cosmos creations are inspired by an iconic Van Cleef & Arpels flower dating from the 1950s. Combining the ethereal quality of a four-leaf clover with the grace of a flower, the collection expresses a delightful femininity graced by luck. Emblematic of the Maison, these jewels take on the onyx and white mother-of-pearl. Precious duets Cosmos collection was inspired associations with the shimmer of mother-of-pearl which complements the softness of pink gold in a tender hymn to nature. Onyx and white gold compose a refined and luminous duet, suffused with timeless elegance. |
This interplay of materials provides two interpretations of the collection and breathes life into each piece. Like graceful talismans, their delicate corollas blossom against the neckline, the wrist or the hand: the Cosmos Between the Finger Ring™ unfurls its graceful petals to illustrate all the creativity of Van Cleef & Arpels. In an ultimate touch of refinement, a diamond petal seems to glitter in the sun, adding a precious note of asymmetry. The earrings – available in two sizes – bring a subtle gleam to the face, while the pendant gently illuminates the hollow of the neck.

Mother-of-pearl: One of the Maison’s favorite materials, mother- of-pearl is produced naturally inside seashells. White mother-of-pearl, its milky sheen glistening with captivating overtones, evokes femininity, gentleness and protection. The mother-of-pearl used by Van Cleef & Arpels comes from Indonesia and Japan; it is notable for its regular surface and sheen of the highest quality.
Onyx: According to Roman mythology, Eros one day used the point of an arrow to cut Venus’s nails while she was asleep. Since every part of her divine body was immortal, they were transformed into stone and gave birth to onyx. Sought-after in ancient times, onyx also appears in Van Cleef & Arpels’ collections. Mainly from Brazil, it is remarkable for its deep black color and highly polished surface, which reflects light like a mirror. The onyx used for the Cosmos collection has been chosen for its special brilliance.
Diamond: The very word diamond – from the Greek adamas, meaning invincible – is enough to call this mineral’s extraordinary properties to mind. A crystal of pure carbon, its hardness, transparency and sparkle have fascinated mankind across civilizations and throughout history. Whether as a symbol of heroism or as a talisman to fend off danger, reconcile couples or bring a long life, this precious stone has often been associated with protection, purity and immortality.
A diamond is offered as a token of undying love.
The Maison selects its diamonds according to the srictest criteria, only using stones whose color is rated at D, or F with a clarity rating of IF, VVSI or VVS2. They offer Van Cleef & Arpels’ creations their exceptional brilliance.

The floral world of Van Cleef & Arpels
Nature is one of Van Cleef & Arpels’ major sources of inspiration, breathing vitality and poetry into its creations. Enthralled by the continuous metamorphoses of flora, the Maison has transposed its infinite forms and variations, capturing the lightness of a corn poppy or the flowering of a cherry tree. As if in some bejeweled, eternal springtime, sprigs of lily-of-the-valley mingle with bunches of wildflowers, four-leaf clovers fuse with Cosmos flowers to unite luck and nature in a single protective couple.
The freshness and vivacity of this enchanted garden has inspired a thousand and one interpretations: an enchanting spectacle that is ever being renewed in Van Cleef & Arpels’ collections.
