Tropic City Takeover At The Roof Bar

Sebastian De La Cruz and Philip Stefanescu founders of Charoenkrung’s buzzing cocktail bar, Tropic City, will take over The Roof Gastro, Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok, for one night only on Thursday 20th December to shake, mix, stir and swizzle their bold and unique signature concoctions.
 
Since moving to Bangkok in 2014, Swedish bartenders De La Cruz and Stefanescu quickly established themselves breathing new life into some of Bangkok’s acclaimed bars, including UNCLE, Lady Brett and Touche Hombre. In late 2017, they went at it alone to open Tropic City, a vibrant, floral-print party den that’s earned a strong following on Charoenkrung Road for its tropical cocktails, matched by an upbeat playlist. In November, Tropic City was named Bangkok Bar Of The Year in BK Magazine’s B.A.D. Awards 2018.

From 7pm onwards on 20th December, De La Cruz and Stefanescu will take over The Roof bar to serve eight special cocktails (prices starting THB 350++) that redefines and expands on the concept of what is considered tropical. Using a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices, as well as variety of techniques, where each cocktail will feature complex flavors and unusual combinations. All while staying true to the Tropic City philosophy of “keeping it simple but delicious.” Also joining them on the night will be Tropic City’s resident DJ Widjojo spinning a suitably tropical-inspired soundtrack.
