From City to Sanctuary: 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts Curates an Exclusive Thai Resident Offers

6/5/2026

Picture
137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts invites Thai nationals and Thailand-based expatriates to experience refined travel within Thailand, with an exclusive Thai Resident Rate complemented by a range of benefits designed to unlock the brand’s signature blend of heritage, design, and indulgence in two of the country’s most captivating destinations—Chiang Mai and Bangkok.

The 137 Pillars story began in Chiang Mai in 2012, following the meticulous restoration of a colonial teak homestead dating back to the late 1800s, which once served as the home of the Borneo Trading Company, a British teak trading firm. Today, this historic residence, now over 130 years old, stands as the heart of 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai, an intimate all-suite sanctuary known for its timeless character and peaceful atmosphere. Around five years later, its sister property, 137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok, introduced a contrasting experience—an urban retreat defined by contemporary design, elevated living, and expansive city views.
In Chiang Mai, guests are immersed in a world of old-world glamour and tranquility. Nestled within lush tropical gardens in a quiet residential enclave, the 30-suite property is just minutes from the Old City’s temples, acclaimed dining, vibrant street life, and cultural landmarks. A short stroll leads to the historic Wat Gate Temple and the banks of the Ping River, while within the hotel, guests can retreat to the emerald pool framed by a dramatic living wall of over 20,000 plants, or unwind at the Nitra Serenity Centre with its curated spa rituals. Culinary experiences span The Dining Room, Palette Restaurant, and the iconic Jack Bain’s Bar—renowned for its crafted cocktails and sabered champagne.

In Bangkok, the pace shifts to the dynamic energy of the capital. Located in the heart of Sukhumvit, near the fashionable EmQuartier and Emporium districts, 137 Pillars Suites & Residences offers an elevated urban escape. The property features two of the city’s highest infinity-edge pools, including a rooftop pool exclusively for suite guests, open 24 hours a day. Guests can take in panoramic skyline views from private cabanas, enjoy sundowner drinks at the Pool Bar or Bangkok Trading Post, and dine at venues including Nimitr Restaurant and Bangkok Trading Post Bistro & Bar. The Nitra Serenity Centre provides a restorative counterpoint to the city’s vibrancy, while the serviced residences—available for short- and long-term stays—offer the comforts of home with refined design, full kitchens, and laundry facilities.

Rates
Exclusive Thai resident rates at 137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok start from THB 9,137 net per night for Suites and THB 5,137 net per night for Residences. AFTERNOON TEA IN FULL BLOOM AT THE AUTHORS’ LOUNGE

5/5/2026

Comments

A limited-time floral-inspired afternoon tea by Chef Gabriel Le Quang, with each petal-shaped pastry drawing on
the theme behind his Meilleur Ouvrier de France 2023 title.
Picture
Bangkok, 30 April 2026 – From 18 May to 18 June 2026, The Authors’ Lounge at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok presents a limited-time afternoon tea by Chef Gabriel Le Quang, recipient of the Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) 2023 as a part of Masters of the 150th: An Epicurean Journey, celebrating the 150th anniversary of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. In a setting long associated with the ritual of afternoon tea, the collection draws from floral artistry, a theme at the centre of his award-winning work.

Presented as a composition of petals, each pastry is conceived as an individual expression of flavour and texture, coming together to form a complete ‘flower’ on the table. The work reflects Chef Gabriel’s creativity, discipline, restraint and intent.

The pastry selection features a series of distinct creations. The Exotic Coconut Cheesecake Petal layers sablé with baked New York cheesecake, tropical marmalade and a light mousse. The Chocolate Praline Baba Petal combines chocolate baba sponge, hazelnut praline and whipped ganache with a crisp finish. The Citrus Calisson Petal pairs almond with mandarin, while the Date & Cherry Petal combines spiced sponge with cherry compote. The Raspberry, Coconut & Wasabi Petal adds contrast, balancing sweetness with a gentle note of heat.

Warm traditional scones are also served with seasonal house-made jams and a choice of Devonshire clotted cream, mascarpone or butter. The savoury selection introduces a change of pace through a series of tea sandwiches, from Boston lobster with tartare sauce on pumpernickel bread to Smoked salmon, horseradish and cucumber, alongside Pastrami with potatoes and sour cream, Coronation chicken with black olives, and Celery heart with egg salad on curry bread.
Chef Gabriel’s journey to the MOF title reflects years of training and mentorship. He began in Paris, with early experience at Carré des Feuillants, followed by training with Stéphane Glacier and Arnaud Larher. His time at Valrhona, The Peninsula Paris and Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc further shaped his craft. After years of preparation, he was awarded the Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2023, recognising technical mastery and commitment to the craft.

At The Authors’ Lounge, this is expressed through an afternoon tea shaped by form, flavour and balance, in keeping with the setting’s long-standing tradition.

The Afternoon Tea by Chef Gabriel Le Quang is available daily from 18 May to 18 June 2026, priced at THB 1,980++ per person, or THB 2,680++ per person including a glass of Champagne. Afternoon tea is served from 12pm to 6pm.

From Rooftop Apiary to Refined Indulgence: A Honey‑Inspired Afternoon Tea at Conrad Bangkok

5/5/2026

Comments

Picture
[Bangkok – May 5, 2026] – Conrad Bangkok unveils the return of its much‑anticipated honey afternoon tea with the launch of “The Conrad Golden Hive Experience” at Diplomat Bar. Inspired by the delicate harmony, craftsmanship and natural rhythm of the beehive, this refined experience celebrates honey harvested from the hotel’s own rooftop apiary, transformed into an elegant expression of flavor and artistry. Available from today to 30 September 2026, the new afternoon tea invites guests to savor a golden journey where sustainability, luxury and culinary creativity meet.

High above the city, Conrad Bangkok’s rooftop apiary quietly sets the tone for this distinctive experience. Here, bees move gracefully from blossom to blossom, crafting a golden harvest guided by instinct, balance and nature’s rhythm. From this elevated sanctuary, inspiration flows seamlessly to the table, as the journey of honey from hive to haute tea unfolds in delicate layers — subtle sweetness, gentle floral notes and a lingering warmth that captures the essence of its origin.

Served on Diplomat Bar’s signature hot‑air‑balloon stand, the afternoon tea is conceived as a sensory journey designed to transport guests to different places around the world. For this edition, the journey ascends to Conrad Bangkok’s own rooftop apiary, inviting diners to explore the hive and see the world from a new perspective. Honey from the rooftop harvest and delicate bee pollen are artfully woven through refined savory and sweet creations, lifted by subtle aromatics and layered textures that evoke a sense of lightness, discovery and imagination.

Among the highlights of the signature tasting menu, diners begin with the refreshing pomelo salad with grilled white prawns, layered with roasted coconut, aromatic herbs, and tamarind dressing, followed by the comforting Tom Kha Gai — a fragrant coconut and galangal chicken soup served with aromatic jasmine rice. The experience concludes with the classic Thai dessert Kluai Khai Chuam, featuring sweetened banana in syrup paired with coconut ice cream, offering a delicately balanced and elegant finale.

Perfectly suited for gatherings of four to six, the shareable Sam Rub Krob Kreung and Sam Rub Krob Ros present generous assortments of beloved Thai favourites, including Tom Yum Goong with river prawns, the golden crispy crab omelette, savoury Rad Na with wok-seared meats or seafood in rich gravy, green curry with chicken or prawns, and the bold Southern-style Khua Kling pork, prepared as a traditional dry stir-fry. These sets capture the essence of Thai hospitality — inviting guests to savour, share, and connect.

Nawa can also translate into ‘something new’ as we bring our culinary philosophy to Park Hyatt Bangkok and create an experience that marks this important anniversary.”
