Tucked elegantly on the 9th floor of Emquartier, is Flamenco. A quaint place with an array of decoration, perfect blend of modern and antique furniture plus a spectrum of vibrant colours, this entire lounge/cocktail bar is indeed a dedication to passionate living. Many people do miss a big element here though, the food is not your ordinary convenient dishes or side dishes for a night out drinking. It goes far beyond that, as the food here is as passionate and celebrates good living. It was a gourmet experience when we visited, and to us, Flamenco is firstly a refined restaurant. Tesit Amatyakul (Mont) is currently the Executive Sous Chef for Flamenco Bangkok. With him helming the kitchen, Flamenco delivers a gourmet dining experience that uplifts your spirit. Interestingly, Chef Mont began as a dishwasher during his study days in Sydney, Australia. Through sheer commitment, passion and the support of his mentors, he perfected his culinary skills across different restaurants spanning a decade. He relocated back to his homeland and was the opening team for Flamenco. We say that is passion indeed! |
The Patatas Bravas is a great take on the timeless potato, perfected with a divine sauce. A great opening dish, to accompany your first drink. Choose from their extensive cocktail list that covers the signature drinks across Latin America. The Munchies Platter is the go-to dish for sharing. Watch out for the chicken empanadas though - they are addictive and at times, one really does not want to share. A nachos dish completes the opening foray to our dinner. A first movement of sorts. The generous scoops of guacamole >> so amazing! For mains, we recommend the sous-vide lamb from Australia. This Spiced Lamb Rack dish is so well presented and the accompanying couscous packs so much punch in spices and flavor! The overall texture so well delivered - kudos to Chef Mont. |
Duck lovers - aim for the Duck Breast A La Plancha which is a Spanish take on the dish, at least in terms of the cooking. The searing is like no other and the sauce right beside it, heavenly! Of course, one must not miss the paella options here too.
The Warm Churros is the sweet note to mark the ending passage of this dinner. The city lights have appeared - the night is young and one is truly happy after a meal like this. To make it even sweeter, order the Margarita Cheesecake. The green layer on this cake is a sublime union with the cheese down below. And yes, that’s an entire layer of good tequila, making this an adult-only treat. We had 2...it was THAT good! Live performances are nightly affairs here, with different rhythms and beats and various groups taking the lead on different days. Check their schedule on Flamenco’s social pages and come on in with your friends, lovers and family. |
