Celebrating one year of slicing, dicing, sizzling and searing at this Japanese steakhouse
One year after opening its doors, Benihana at AVANI Atrium Bangkok is still serving up the tastiest show in town. Renowned for its ‘eatertainment’, the upscale Japanese steakhouse celebrated its first birthday this October. With 27 years of experience in Japanese cuisine, Executive Chef Suriyawuth is leading his team with his masterful skills and an infectious smile. Slicing, dicing, juggling, and sizzling with expert precision to create melt-in-your-mouth meals. Signature dishes Benihana has a variety of signature dishes from the a la carte, teppanyaki, and sushi menus. From the a la carte menu must-try dishes include: Grilled Scallops with spicy Japanese rayu sauce and crispy vegetables (B700++); Strip Loin 250g, grade A4 Japenese Hida beef (B3,900++); Yellow Fin Tuna (B700++); and for dessert, Cheesecake Dumplings served with ice cream and berry coulis (160++). |
From the sushi menu try the Flotsam and Jetsam (B500++): unagi tempura, black tobiko, coated with unagi, wasabi sauce, fried noodles, togarashi, and teriyaki; and Benihana Salmon Tuna Tartar (B550++): fresh marinated salmon and tuna with avocado, cucumber, yuzu sauce, and rayu.
The Traditional Teppanyaki set features: Japanese onion soup, Hibachi vegetables, Benihana salad, steamed rice, and a prawn appetizer. But Benihana is currently offering a new teppanyaki set menu special, the King Crab and Turf (B2,500++ per set). Served with a variety of sides and appetizers including the chef’s signature onion miso soup and Benihana garlic-fried rice; Alaskan king crab and US beef tenderloin served on mashed potatoes; a trio of sushi including the Angry King Crab Sushi Roll, the King Crab Nigiri, and the US Tenderloin Nigiri with caramelised foie gras; and followed by a fruity raspberry sorbet. Add one or two of the signature dishes to your meal and you’ll have a Japanese feast for three to four people.
Atmosphere
The dimmed lighting and cherry blossom adorned backdrop of Benihana creates a lively modern eastern ambience that transports you to Japan the moment you walk through the doors. And with the teppanyaki tables taking centre stage a theatrical element is automatically added to the mix. But it’s the chefs themselves that add the X-factor and uplift the mood; with their infectious smiles, entertaining showmanship and incredible culinary skills you can’t help but smile while at Benihana.
