MULLIGANS IRISH PUB

14/7/2016

Comments

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Mulligans on Khao San Road is one of the most happening pubs in town
IT may have all the trappings of a traditional Irish pub – the requisite mix of creams and greens, mahogany furniture, and bric-à-brac and posters from the Emerald Isle – but there’s plenty of local flavour at this vibrant venue which never closes.

Located on the second floor of the Buddy Lodge, a popular guesthouse midway down Khao San Road, the pub prides itself on hosting nightly bands and the occasional surprise gig by famous Thai artists. Just some of the big local names to grace the stage recently include Pong, the lead singer of Hin Lek Fai; Pod, frontman of Moderndog; and popular Thai rock band Tattoo Colour. It’s also a cracking venue to catch all the big international sporting events, thanks to 10 big screens strategically placed throughout the venue.

Regular shindigs like the Khao San Bike Night always pull in big crowds, and even on typical nights, when nothing special is planned, the pub’s atmosphere is always bouncing till the early hours.

Fuelling all the fun are over 14 draught beers (including imported highlights such as Hoegaarden, Stella Artois, and Punk IPA) as well as a long list of boozy cocktails. Happy Hours held twice daily – from 3pm-8pm, and then 2am-4am – offer selected draught beers at just B99+ per pint, and signature cocktails at B89+ per glass. You’ll also find brand specific deals which change daily (see website for full details).

The food selection runs the gamut from traditional pub grub to international bites such as Lamb shank (B350+) and crispy Pork knuckle (B350+) and local fare like Pla goong
(spicy shrimp and lemongrass salad with chopped onions, mints and spring onions. B180+) and Som tam poo khai (spicy mango salad with crab. B420+). Portions are hearty, the quality is good, and best of all – the kitchen is open all night.

265 Khao San Road. Live music every from 10pm (bands followed by live DJs every Thurs – Fri),
