| THE Thai chapter of the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or showcased the noble art of sabrage at a wonderful Gala Dinner held at Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok’s acclaimed Da Vinci restaurant. The traditional sabrage ceremony, established over 200 years ago by a dashing young French cavalry officer who would slice off the cork of a champagne bottle with a sabre, was conducted on the night by Jean-Claude Jalloux, the Grand Master of la Confrérie du Sabre d’ Or, before guests sat down to enjoy a six-course menu paired with fine wines and Champagne. |
