amBar at Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15, launched its new ‘Steakology’ menu by inviting a group of foodies and journalists to sample fine cuts of beef from Australia, Canada, and Argentina. Available until April 30, 2015, the new menu also features a range of appetizers, side dishes, and desserts.

JAZZ saxophonist and singer Alvin Davis wowed a large crowd of music lovers when he performed for one night only at Centara Watergate Pavillion Hotel Bangkok's rooftop WALK bar. The popular composer, who hails from the UK, proved a big hit with guests as he serenaded them with songs from his five studio albums.

TOP quality ramen was the order of the day when popular Japanese restaurant chain Ippudo celebrated its grand opening at Central Embassy. Following the same concept as the very first Ippudo branch in Fukuoka, Bangkok’s iteration of the restaurant offers delicious Japanese recipes prepared using the finest ingredients. King’s Cup wows Bangkok

TAKING place for the first time in Bangkok, the 13th annual King’s Cup Elephant Polo Tournament saw 16 international teams thunder around the pitches of Siam Polo Park – all in the name of elephant conservation. The final, which was presided over by the King of Thailand’s royal representative, Privy Councilor Real Admiral Mom Luang Usni Pramoj, was won by King Power Duty Free, who beat Audemars Piguet in a thrilling ‘sudden death’ play-off. The event was capped with a gala dinner at Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa, where dignitaries, players, media and celebrities enjoyed a night of drinking and dining and fundraising. The night’s auction raised 4.5 million baht for elephant conservation projects, taking the total raised to date by the tournament to an impressive US$900,000 (28.7 million baht).

TRADER Vic’s Restaurant at Anantara Bangkok Riverside celebrated the 70th anniversary of its signature drink, Mai Tai, with a fun-filled party where the boozy concoction was served free-flow. Invented by Trader Vic’s restaurant in Oakland, California in 1944, the Mai Tai is based on rum, Curaçao liqueur, and lime juice – and goes down perfectly with trader Vic’s Pacific Rim cuisine.
