Hilton Pattaya organized the annual running competition ‘the 6th Staircase Race Earth Hour Run’ with over 70 participants including Mr.Bhunanan Patanasin, Association Secretary of Pattaya Business & Tourism Association, the representatives of Pattaya City Police Station, CentralFestival Pattaya Beach and Pattaya medias. The event held to support a global campaign ‘Earth Hour’ and to create awareness of energy saving in local community.
The runners had to run up to 660 stairs instead of using elevators from Welcome Lobby on level 1 to Horizon Rooftop Restaurant & Bar on level 34. The competition was divided into 4 categories; Individual Male, Individual Female, Group and Best Costume in ‘Creative Sustainability’ concept. The winners of each category are as followings:

The day began with an event hosted by the Ambassador of Ireland to the Kingdom of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Joseph Anthony Cotter, who was joined by his fellow Ambassadors from numerous countries including Brazil, Laos, Mongolia, Peru, Portugal, Slovak Republic, as well as an EU delegation and their spouses. This year was a very special occasion as H.E. Mr. Patrick O'Donovan, Minister of State for Public Procurement, Open Government and eGovernment of Ireland was a guest of honour at the event.
