The hospitality-inspired, design-led co-working operator launches first bangkok location, ahead of openings in hong kong
Picture
The rise of the co-working trend has started to change the way people work. Taking this one step further, The Great Room is dedicated to changing the way people feel about work.

Blending inspiration from the world’s best offices, luxury hotels and business clubs, The Great Room has been changing the way its members feel about work since its successful launch in mid-2016. From complimentary breakfast and specialty coffee made by friendly baristas, to a turndown cart distributing hot chocolate and cookies, and regular members’ cocktail events, The Great Room banishes the workday blues.

Since its establishment in June 2016, The Great Room has expanded into 3 prime Singapore CBD locations.

The first regional foray for The Great Room occupies 30,000 square feet at the newly built Gaysorn Tower in the heart of downtown Bangkok.
Designed in collaboration with global design studio Michael Fiebrich Design, The Great Room at Gaysorn Tower is sophisticated, laden with natural light and the most sumptuous views of Bangkok's vibrant cityscape. There is space for private focused work, corporate entertaining in intimate or heroic settings, a variety of meeting rooms and communal nooks for casual collisions – for grown-ups.

The business club and co-working space is structured by a crystal-clear layout consisting of streets and intimate spaces. It exudes an overall ambiance that is equal parts warm and inviting and brings to life what The Great Room termed 'the new corporate neutral'. The distinct marble floor, made up of eight different types of stones, creates varying intensities across the Drawing Room. This is set against curved timber walls, dark timber desks, fresh celadon hues and ambient lighting to execute an exceptional aesthetic. The result builds layers of warmth and texture, and blurs distinction between private and public experiences.

According to Jaelle Ang, Co-Founder and CEO of The Great Room, “If we know with laser focus who we are creating for and start with the right questions, we end up in a very different place than beanbags, hustlin' slogans and beer-pong.”

The Great Room experience begins at The Drawing Room where first impressions are formed, rapports and built with like-minded people. It is also the perfect backdrop for evening cocktails and large-scale fireside chats Gatherings of like-minded tribes from 6 to 120 pax, whether for learning, meeting, impressing or entertaining, can be housed in various meeting spaces, namely the State Room (elegant boardroom for 14 pax), Studio (up to 50 pax), or Study (meeting space for 4 pax). Hot Desks and Hot Offices are available for members to seek the rest of the fulfillment they need from working alone or together.

Jaelle Ang shares, “We believe that good design draws a like-minded and ambitious community. Thais are extremely design savvy and has a unique joie de vivre. We wanted to create an all-encompassing work and play experience that welcomes co-working members and business club members to share the hospitality experience that defines The Great Room. This opening further cements our purpose to change the way people feel about going to work. Because beyond productivity, work is also about new conversations, connections, inspiration, contemplation and repose. It's our job to design the perfect backdrop to the highlights of life happening.”

The Great Room will also have a specially curated business and cultural programme for members, focusing on growth across one's professional, personal, wellness, creativity and cultural development. Since opening The Great Room in Singapore, the social aspect of its co-working space has been known to seduce its members to spend more time at the office, from the first cup of cappuccino to one's nightcap.

The new Gaysorn Tower office is a key milestone in The Great Room’s growth strategy with the company strategically growing and nurturing its high value community and network across Asia. By end of 2018, The Great Room will come to serve a growing community of over 700 companies in technology, finance, lifestyle and media, across its seven locations in four cities, namely Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

The iconic jewelry brand showcased over 120 years of heritage and craftsmanship with the first unveiling of its Fall/Winter 2018 Couture Collection in Asia, at a dazzling one-night gala event at The St. Regis Hotel
Global jewelry brand Swarovski hosted its annual regional “Brilliance for All” event at The St. Regis Hotel in Kuala Lumpur tonight, marking the company’s first-ever event of such scale in the capital city. As one of the most dynamic and fastest growing cities in the world, Kuala Lumpur has become a destination synonymous with its lush heritage and metropolitan luxury landscape, and a key market within the company’s thriving presence in Southeast Asia.
Picture
In 1895, Daniel Swarovski famously stated, “Diamonds are for royalty. I want to create a diamond for every woman.” Still emboldened by his wish to create a sparkling brilliance in every woman’s life, Swarovski’s lasting legacy is the cornerstone of the event theme, “Brilliance for All.” Over the 120-plus years since, Daniel Swarovski’s groundbreaking crystal-cutting techniques have evolved to transform the jewelry industry and catapulted Swarovski onto the world’s stage as a global fashion jewelry brand.

Bringing together top influencers, media and special VIP guests from around Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines, this season’s star-studded event celebrated Swarovski’s legendary heritage by unveiling the Fall/Winter 2018 Couture Collection, Fall/Winter 2018 “Crystal Tales” Collection and Atelier Swarovski Exclusive Collection.

Showcased for the first time in Asia, Swarovski Fall/Winter 2018 Couture Collection further celebrated the brand’s signature aesthetics with five inspirational looks specially selected from the recent exhibit during Paris Fashion Week. The couture creations underlined the brand’s rich heritage in craftsmanship and its ongoing collaboration with the world of fashion; altogether, the exquisite couture pieces highlighted the timeless philosophy that every woman deserves a moment to shine.

The stunning masterpieces, beautifully complemented by the exceptional Crystal Fine Mesh and Crystal Pearls, were hand-embellished by a team of skillful artisans over the course of 399 hours, featuring more than 1.2 million pieces of crystal stone and the brilliant shades of crystal jet, jet hematite and Swarovski’s synthetic opals.
Every season, Swarovski’s distinctive sparkle plays the leading role in a new story, inviting women to embark on a journey to explore and accentuate their many brilliant facets. With the Fall/Winter 2018 “Crystal Tales” Collection, that journey leads to a new level of fantasy with a color palette decorated in rich jewel tones and golden accents that effortlessly transit with an alluring air into any look, day or night. Dialing up Swarovski’s vision of femininity, this collection’s of-the-moment silhouettes include layers upon layers of long pendants and charms, bold cocktail rings, delicate designs and ornate earrings.

“Today, our daily life is impacted by a high density of information and visual pollution,” explains Creative Director Nathalie Colin. “It’s a fast moving – and at times overwhelming – environment requiring constant agility. The world of magic, enchantment and fairy tales offers an escape from the everyday life. This captivating world inspired the Crystal Tales Collection. This season, I wanted to offer women a welcoming and sparkling world to retreat to, where they can be inspired by storytelling, re-energized by richly crafted designs, and feel at their most brilliant.”
In conjunction with Creative Director Nathalie Colin’s first trip to Malaysia, the event brilliantly showcased the Atelier Swarovski Fall/Winter 2018 Collection. Founded in 2007 by Nadja Swarovski, Atelier Swarovski offers cutting-edge jewelry, accessories and home décor to push the boundaries of creativity by collaborating with the finest talents across fashion, jewelry, architecture and design. The collection celebrated the return of Atelier Swarovski’s collaborations with designers Peter Pilotto and Mary Katrantzou, as well as welcomed the debut lines of editor and style icon Anna Dello Russo and designer Tabitha Simmons.

Also on showcase was Atelier Swarovski Core Collection, which included the Japanese-inspired “Graceful Bloom” collection. Created exclusively for the Asia-Pacific market, the 8-piece line featured a subtle yet sophisticated spectrum of rose pink crystals and blush pink Swarovski Crystal Pearls to symbolize luck, wisdom and wealth.
The festive evening celebrated each collection’s mesmerizing charm, highlighting Swarovski’s passion for creating contemporary designs that fulfill their 123-year commitment to quality craftsmanship. Striking a balance between Swarovski’s lasting heritage and its ever-evolving creativity, this season’s “Brilliance for All” event welcomed local and international celebrities, trendsetters and personalities, including the “Swarovski Brilliant 8: A Tribute to Women Who Sparkle”. It is the celebration of unique brilliant moments of multifaceted female talents. This dazzling group of eight women from around Southeast Asia embodies the sparkling spirit of the brand and shine extraordinarily within their individual facets. It is truly empowering women celebration. Swarovski Brilliant 8 are Neelofa, Venice Min, Nittha Jirayungyurn, Melissa Koh, Elizabeth Rahajeng, Olivia Lazuardy, Marie Lozano and Nicole Andersson.

The “Brilliance for All” gala concluded with special performances by Malaysian singing sensation Yuna and DJ Curley, for a truly unforgettable night.
