Devasom Resorts launches the first year of the Devasom Scholarship

Because happiness is giving and education is essential, the Devasom Scholarship aims to grant students with funding in higher education to help them achieve a better quality of life and build a happier society

Devasom Resorts, which owns and manages two luxury properties, Devasom Hua Hin Resort and Devasom Khao Lak Beach Resort and Villas, has always been dedicated to giving back to society and creating a sustainable, happy community. In the firm belief that education is the best gift, the company has announced the first year of the Devasom Scholarship, awarded in 2022 to provide access to higher education for Thai youths.

“In our operation throughout the years, Devasom Resorts has always made sure that our staff are happy. We believe that happiness is contagious, and it can be passed on from one person to the next. And our resort guests can sense our staff’s happiness from their smiles and the brightness in their eyes. This is what we call the circle of happiness, and this year we intend to expand this circle beyond our properties and into society,” said Is Atirak, Founder and Co-Managing Director of Devasom Resorts. “We established the Devasom Scholarship as part of our mission to sustainably give back to the community by giving access to higher education to local youths so that they can further develop themselves and the community they come from. We need nothing in return, because knowing that our effort brings forth happiness and sustainability to the community that we are close to is already very rewarding.”

The first recipient of a Devasom Scholarship is Miss Supawida Chupradit, an amicable student who just graduated from Takuapa-Senanukul School in Takuapa District of Phang-Nga Province. For her dream of becoming an engineer, Supawida is getting a five-year tuition and expenses to pursue a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. From this year onward, Devasom Scholarship will award one

non-binding scholarship per year to cover the tuition fee of an entire bachelor’s degree program in any field, which totals approximately 100,000 baht per year.

Education is not only a crucial tool for an individual to make a living, but it is also a substantial building block for a strong, sustainable and happy community as well as for society and the country. Access to all levels of education is therefore very important. However, 2020 statistics from the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) shows that an average high school-level student needs around 7,000 baht per year to pursue their education, and that results in only 60% of the population having the means to complete high school and as little as 28% able to pursue tertiary education. Devasom Resorts hopes that with this humble Devasom Scholarship initiative, more youths will be able to pursue their dream in education and help create a better, more sustainable and happier society in the future.

Campari x Alchemy Staff Party 2023 brings out all the fun with games, competitions and the “perfect serve” contest

Campari and Alchemy celebrated their success of the past year and merrily started off the new one with the first event of the year, Campari x Alchemy Staff Party, at their base in Sathorn Thani Building on Sathorn Road, earlier in January where all the staff members got to let loose and win prizes from numerous fun games and competitions throughout the evening.
Picture
The staff party, which was held for the first time after the pandemic, was organized by their own capable and highly-experienced in-house event organizer under the theme “Thai Country” where staff members dressed to the nine with their best interpretations of provincial Thai attires. The hall was elaborately decked out and a grand stage was propped up for the Best Dress contest. Supported by Campari (with all the brand ambassadors present!), the party was undoubtedly properly fueled with fine spirits and craft cocktails for the staff to enjoy during the merry making and mingling session.
Picture
But Campari x Alchemy Staff Party was not all about fun and entertainment. It was also a time where knowledge was shared, and new talents were discovered. At the event was also a mini-training session about the perfect serve of two of the brand’s iconic drinks, Negroni and Aperol Spritz, for not only the sales team but also the entire staff members. Once the training concluded, the staff then took turn creating their perfect serve and presenting their cocktail in three minutes, the same way contestants in most prestigious bartending competitions did, with Symphony Loo, Campari Group Brand Ambassador – SEA and the newly appointed Brand Ambassador, Campari Thailand, Thanamon Suthon, in the judging panel.

Picture
Well, yes, it was just a staff party, but at Campari and Alchemy, all things about drinks were always taken seriously and passionately. Every “contestant” was doing their absolute best to not forget the recipes and to calm their nerves. While one would think those with previous training experience like the sales team would have more advantage in this competition, it came as a surprise that the winner was the firm’s newbie in the admin department who snatched up the cash prize and a round of big applause from his colleagues.

Picture
It could very well be that this dark horse was a natural born mixologist with dormant bartending skills.  But one thing we know for sure is that that the perfect serves of Negroni and Aperol Spritz were incredibly easy, refreshingly intuitive, and fabulously fun to achieve.
