Bangkok’s Clean up the World 2019, participated by Embassy of Canada, Embassy of Singapore,Sathorn District and Chao Phraya Estate

Representatives from the Embassy of Canada, the Embassy of Singapore in Thailand, and executives of Chao Phraya Estate, a luxurious mixed-use project by Chao Phraya River, together with representatives from Sathorn District Office, cleaned up an area along the Chao Phraya River as part of the Clean Up The World 2019 activity to raise awareness about plastic waste in our environment and to encourage everyone to help maintain cleanliness around the Chao Phraya River. The activity took place in the area around Four Seasons Private Residences Bangkok at Chao Phraya River on Saturday 21 September 2019. 
 
Clean up the World campaign, which is now in its 26th year, initiated by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) with now over 35 million volunteers from 130 countries across the world taking part in total. It is one of the biggest environmental communities. The activity in Bangkok this year received support from public and private sectors, namely the BMA, embassies in Thailand, hotel partners, local businesses, communities, and neighborhoods in the area. The volunteers joined forces to make the area cleaner by sorting waste in public spaces such as footpaths, roads and canals to prevent waste from entering the Chao Phraya River and making its way into the Gulf of Thailand.

Big Clean-Up for Community

H.E. Mr. Francisco Vaz Patto, Ambassador of Portugal in Thailand together with Mr. Michael Schlueter, General Manager of Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ms. Jirapreeya Sivatat,  Sales & Marketing Director, River City Bangkok, Representative of Warehouse30, Bangrak and Sampantawong District, Mahidol University International College, recently led their associates and road sweepers to do a big cleaning on the Captain Bush lane (Charoen Krung Soi 24 and 30).
 
This annual activity is part of “Clean up the world” project, one of the largest community-based environmental campaigns in the world that engaged more than 35 million volunteers in 130 countries each year. Royal Orchid Sheraton taking part in this global campaign by collaborate and organize the Big Clean-Up 2019 activity with embassy of Portugal, River City Bangkok, Warehouse 30, Mahidol University and other neighbors along the Chao Phraya river to empower people in community to make the difference in order to build a greater atmosphere around Bangrak and Sampantawong district.

Hilton Pattaya Organizes Activities For Saving Environment at Khao Chi-On Non Hunting Area, Chonburi

Hilton Pattaya led by Mr. Rudolf Troestler, general manager, management team and volunteers joined the activities for conserving water, forest and environment by building dam at Khao Chi-On Non Hunting Area in Chonburi, planting trees at Wat Yanasangwararam Woramahawihan and also planting Yellow Star trees, considered as the symbolic tree of His Majesty King Rama X in front of Tourist Service Center.

Dam provides a range of benefits for environment and ecosystems including using as a barrier to slow water flow down, preventing bank erosion, storing water for dry season, improving soil quality and improving the ecosystem and the lives of animals around there.

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Melaka was delighted to welcome the FAM Trip for travel agents from Germany during their recent visit to Malaysia from the 13th – 17th September 2019.

Organized by Tourism Malaysia through their tourism office in Frankfurt, this trip is amongst the initiatives by Tourism Malaysia through their AERO division with Condor Airlines.
 
The group comprising of travel agents and bloggers, Melaka was selected as one of their destinations apart from Kuala Lumpur and Pulau Pangkor. Aiming to showcase and promote Malaysia to the German market, strengthening further the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign, this was an opportune trip to also promote our historical city of Melaka and its attractions.
Once they touched down at Melaka, the management of our hotel welcomed them at the hotel lobby with chilled juice and cold towel. We also hosted them to a sumptuous Seafood Buffet Dinner while we introduced them to our hotel and facilities.
 
Consisting of German media and representatives from the Tourism Malaysia in German, they were here for 2 days I night stay to visit our beautiful historical Melaka city and introduce our unique cultures and delicacies to the German market.
 
We look forward to welcoming our friends from Germany to stay with us and experience our warm hospitality.

During London Fashion Week 2019, The Standard, London welcomed guests from around the world to celebrate its grand opening and much anticipated reveal of the 10th floor.

The grand opening marks a hugely important moment for the brand, as it completes the iconic hotel group’s first international launch, which will soon be followed by The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives in Fall of 2019. The groups global expansion plans include upcoming properties in Milan, Paris, Lisbon, Bordeaux, Mexico City, Koh Samui, Phuket, Hua Hin and Chicago, to name a few.

With London alight with London Fashion Week, VIP guests took the express exterior “red pill” elevator directly to the 10th floor, where they were welcomed by floor to ceiling views of the London skyline and stunning interiors by Shawn Hausman. Internationally renowned DJ, Producer and close friend of the brand Mark Ronson curated the music for the evening, bringing friends such as Q-Tip and Slick Rick to the stage to perform.  Giggs also jumped n the mic for an impromptu performance.  
Guests were whisked up to the 10th floor, where they were greeted by The Standard’s staff, with glasses of Ruinart Rose and Casamigos Negroni Mahguey.  Ahead of the much anticipated launch of Decimo, Peter Sanchez-Iglesias’s first London restaurant serving a fresh interpretation of live fire Spanish and Mexican dishes, guests were served canapes including Pan con tomate, Decimo Tortilla, Croquetas de Jamon and Baja Tacos. 
Ananda Everingham and Nicha Thanalongkorn sampled special cocktails including a Mediterranean G&T made with Villa Ascenti gin, herbs & Mediterranean tonic, and a twist on the classic Paloma Pitcher, Casamigos tequila blanco, pink grapefruit, lime & soda. 

With floor to ceiling views of London’s east end, the Olympic park and beyond, guests explored the brand new bar opposite Decimo, where cocktails including the Tommy made with Don Julio Blanco tequila, agave, violet & lime, Vodka lime and soda with Ciroc vodka, lime, herbs, ginger extract & soda were served to guests.  The atmosphere was completed by Louie Vega all night long at the east side bar and DJ KON finishing the night on the decks at Decimo.

Now in its fifth year, the ‘Kilo of Kindness’ campaign which honours the United Nations International Day of Charity. As a part of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin called on guests and hotel team members to donate and share food, clothes and educational supplies in support of The Border Patrol Police Naresuan Pa-La-U School as part of this campaign.
 
Excitedly, this year the hotel invited students and teachers to experience a hotel as a part of Open House activities. This meaningful event was led by Mr. Sven Walter, General Manager together with CSR committee. The group were warmly welcomed by hotel department heads during the visit of each area while exploring hoteliers' life. Ending an event with big smiles before bidding a farewell with "Chocolate Workshop", this fun-filled workshop allowed students to create their own chocolate balls in various shapes with laughs along the way and help from media and local influencers; Hua Hin Today Newspaper and Let's Check In Magazine.

Helping from Abroad & Bridging the Gap
Greiner aerospace Inc. (Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas) is contributing to bridge the gap and help eliminate the carbon foot print by donating unused leather and fabric to schools, families and other non-profit organizations. Greiner aerospace, Inc’s donations and contributions will support to improve schools and private families located in rural provinces that have little to no funds to purchase new furniture. The leather and fabric will be used to cover old seat cushions and other furniture that have wearied away over the years. Additional donations will be allocated to other non-governmental organizations (NGO) for further support. 
 
Greiner aerospace Inc’s Managing Director, Alan Sikarskie explained, “Our long-term sustainability actions are not only a critical element of our corporate strategy, but an absolute requirement to be a good neighbor and live responsibly.”
 
Greiner aerospace Inc is doing their part to help solve the issue of the United States contributing to over 258+ million tons of solid waste and trash discarded by homes and business.

Swissotel Bangkok Ratchada, led by Mr. Bruno Rotschaedl, General Manager and Mrs. Kathleen Pokrud, President of Hong Kong Ladies' Group, recently joined the Cantonese Opera Charity Performance at China Cultural Centre in Bangkok, presided over by Madame Pan Peng, spouse of the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Lyu Jian. The hotel supported the event by providing catering service to VIP guests and audience. Our fruit and vegetable carving expertise was also on display as centrepieces, further evidencing both our support for the event and our craftsmanship that is a signature Swissôtel brand attribute.
