Clean up the World campaign, which is now in its 26th year, initiated by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) with now over 35 million volunteers from 130 countries across the world taking part in total. It is one of the biggest environmental communities. The activity in Bangkok this year received support from public and private sectors, namely the BMA, embassies in Thailand, hotel partners, local businesses, communities, and neighborhoods in the area. The volunteers joined forces to make the area cleaner by sorting waste in public spaces such as footpaths, roads and canals to prevent waste from entering the Chao Phraya River and making its way into the Gulf of Thailand.
Representatives from the Embassy of Canada, the Embassy of Singapore in Thailand, and executives of Chao Phraya Estate, a luxurious mixed-use project by Chao Phraya River, together with representatives from Sathorn District Office, cleaned up an area along the Chao Phraya River as part of the Clean Up The World 2019 activity to raise awareness about plastic waste in our environment and to encourage everyone to help maintain cleanliness around the Chao Phraya River. The activity took place in the area around Four Seasons Private Residences Bangkok at Chao Phraya River on Saturday 21 September 2019.

This annual activity is part of “Clean up the world” project, one of the largest community-based environmental campaigns in the world that engaged more than 35 million volunteers in 130 countries each year. Organized by Tourism Malaysia through their tourism office in Frankfurt, this trip is amongst the initiatives by Tourism Malaysia through their AERO division with Condor Airlines. The group comprising of travel agents and bloggers, Melaka was selected as one of their destinations apart from Kuala Lumpur and Pulau Pangkor. Aiming to showcase and promote Malaysia to the German market, strengthening further the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign, this was an opportune trip to also promote our historical city of Melaka and its attractions. Once they touched down at Melaka, the management of our hotel welcomed them at the hotel lobby with chilled juice and cold towel. We also hosted them to a sumptuous Seafood Buffet Dinner while we introduced them to our hotel and facilities. Consisting of German media and representatives from the Tourism Malaysia in German, they were here for 2 days I night stay to visit our beautiful historical Melaka city and introduce our unique cultures and delicacies to the German market. With floor to ceiling views of London’s east end, the Olympic park and beyond, guests explored the brand new bar opposite Decimo, where cocktails including the Tommy made with Don Julio Blanco tequila, agave, violet & lime, Vodka lime and soda with Ciroc vodka, lime, herbs, ginger extract & soda were served to guests. The atmosphere was completed by Louie Vega all night long at the east side bar and DJ KON finishing the night on the decks at Decimo. Now in its fifth year, the ‘Kilo of Kindness’ campaign which honours the United Nations International Day of Charity. (Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas) is contributing to bridge the gap and help eliminate the carbon foot print by donating unused leather and fabric to schools, families and other non-profit organizations. Greiner aerospace, Inc’s donations and contributions will support to improve schools and private families located in rural provinces that have little to no funds to purchase new furniture. The leather and fabric will be used to cover old seat cushions and other furniture that have wearied away over the years. Additional donations will be allocated to other non-governmental organizations (NGO) for further support.
