Clean up the World campaign, which is now in its 26th year, initiated by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) with now over 35 million volunteers from 130 countries across the world taking part in total. It is one of the biggest environmental communities. The activity in Bangkok this year received support from public and private sectors, namely the BMA, embassies in Thailand, hotel partners, local businesses, communities, and neighborhoods in the area. The volunteers joined forces to make the area cleaner by sorting waste in public spaces such as footpaths, roads and canals to prevent waste from entering the Chao Phraya River and making its way into the Gulf of Thailand.
Ben Taechaubol, Chief Executive Officer of Country Group Development PCL, said, “It has been our pleasure to take part in this activity. Chao Phraya River has always been a significant part of Thai people’s lives. We are delighted that CGD can play a role in showing responsibility to our environment.”
