The Chao Phraya’s most popular hotel duo welcome art lovers to kick off the festive season with a riverside exhibition featuring two established and two emerging Thai artists. From 4 December 2019 to 15 January 2020, “River of Change” will run in venues throughout the complex: the Art Lounge at Anantara Riverside on the ground floor, The Art Room on the 11th floor of Avani+ Riverside, with its panoramic river views, and the Pop-Up Art Space on the second floor of the connecting Riverside Plaza. The exhibition features works of innovative Thai creativity. The exhibiting artists include Thanachai Ujjin ‘Pod’, an art graduate from Chulalongkorn University, who went on to become the lead singer of the band Moderndog and whose abstract paintings take audiences on a journey of self-expression. Multi-faceted artist Wisut Ponnimit will show why he is considered one of the key foreign artists in Japan’s manga scene, through a collection demonstrating his distinct storytelling techniques. As for the up-and-coming talent showing their work in this groundbreaking exhibition, award-winning photographer Siwanat Phongboonkoomlarp will be exploring the pure lives of children in a collection that aims to capture “life snapshots”. Illustrator and art teacher Mai Intarakanchit will be urging audiences to observe how emotions can affect physicality through her distinct portraiture. |
