| IT was a full house for Bangkok St Andrew’s Society’s Annual Ball, which this year celebrated its 125th anniversary as a society in the Thai capital with a glittering event. This is a huge milestone for the society, the second oldest in the world. Chieftain Doug Riach, along with past Chieftains David Cummings, Rab Thomas and David Sloan welcomed guests who included the British Ambassador to Thailand, Mr Mark Kent. Some wonderful traditional entertainment was provided by the dancers from the Gordon School of Dancing in Montrose, along with the Graham Geddes Band and the British Club Pipe Band. Host venue Amari Watergate Hotel served an outstanding five-course dinner, with whisky, wine and beer. |
