SCOTLAND were thrashed a whopping 7-1 by England in this year’s edition of the annual Alex Forbes Memorial Trophy, played in silky fashion once again on the pristine pitches of Bangkok Patana School. Some spectators blamed Scotland’s (then) looming vote for independence for the drop in form - “their minds are anywhere but on the ball,” they shrieked. But that would detract from the sizzling form of Danny Poole’s boys in white, who led Struan Robertson’s brave hearts on a merry dance to secure a well-deserved win. Both teams capped the day with drinks, eats, and lots of hilarious banter at The Clubhouse on Sukhumvit 23.
