“The Royal Project Tourism Areas” Ton Lam Patia Reservoir Trip

In the past year, the project “Follow the King’s Wisdom for Sustainable Tourism” has achieved great success. This year, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) continues to work on the principle of the king with the project “The Royal Project Tourism Areas” which believed to stimulate domestic travel and restore local wisdom.

This project has been cooperated with the embassy from over 25 countries. The embassy is going to experience with a variety of cultures and local wisdom in the trip such as herbalism, agriculture, ancient massage and traditional attire.
“The Royal Project Tourism Areas” consists of five tourism routes namely
  1. Kaset Vichaya Project Operation, Chiang Mai.
  2. 1 Rai Kae Chon, Ratchaburi.
  3. Pak Phanang River Basin Development Project, Nakhon Si Thammarat.
  4. Pluak Daeng Development Service Center Under His Majesty's Initiatives, Rayong.
  5. Lam Patia Reservoir Development Project, Buriram.

The 2nd route is a 2 days trip at Ton Lam Patia Reservoir Development Project, Ban Khok Mueang, Buriram.
The schedule consists of Chang Arena and Ton Lam Patia Reservior Development Project on the first day. Ban Khok Mueang,  Prasat Hin Phanom Rung and Khao Kradong Forest Park on the second day.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand, said “The Royal Project Tourism Areas” is a project derived from the "Follow the King’s Wisdom for Sustainable Tourism” project. After the success of the previous project, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has realized the importance of the King’s philosophy in making values out of local wisdom and stimulating domestic tourism. Therefore, TAT has implemented the promotion of tourism routes combined with the King’s philosophy to promote tourism in the main and secondary tourism areas and the King’s philosophy to be well-known across the globe.

The ambassadors in the 2nd route, Ton Lam Patia Reservoir Development Project - Ban Khok Mueang Community, Buriram Province, are as follows Mrs. Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of The Republic of the Philippines. Mr. Joaquim Amaral, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. Mr. Radouane Chaouki, Second Secretary of The Kingdom of Morocco and Ms.Panita Chittanonda A representative of Honory Consul of The republic of Armenia.
